Welcome our new Therapist! Alexis Martin, LMT

    Alexis Martin, LMT

Orthopedic & Therapeutic Massage | Mentor Residency at Tranquil Therapy Wellness

Alexis Martin is a Licensed Massage Therapist with a background that sets her apart before she ever lays hands on a client. With 10 years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, Alexis has spent the better part of a decade helping patients recover from post-surgical rehabilitation, acute injuries, and chronic pain — learning firsthand how the body compensates, braces, and holds onto tension long after the initial injury.

Fast facts: 10 years as a PTA | Trained in cupping, Graston, and muscle energy techniques | Finds her own reset in nature

After graduating from massage school in August 2025, Alexis joined Tranquil Therapy Wellness as a therapist in a structured mentor residency under founder Ashley Stafford. Deepening her orthopedic lens through training in myofascial technique, somatics, the biopsychosocial model of pain, and hands-on work with areas like the anterior neck, hips, and pelvic floor. This is not a passive apprenticeship — it’s a deliberate, evolving education in how the nervous system, the mind, and the body’s connective tissue all participate in pain patterns.

Alexis gravitates toward clients dealing with neck and shoulder tension, low back and hip dysfunction, and headaches — whether the origin is postural, stress-driven, post-injury, or some combination of all three. She brings firm, focused hands paired with a calm and peaceful presence, and is especially skilled at communicating throughout a session so clients always feel oriented, comfortable, and in control of their experience.

Her toolkit includes myofascial release, cupping, and trigger point therapy, along with specialized instruction by Ashley working on the SCM, scalenes and the psoas,  an area she has worked with consistently for over eight years. Quiet sessions are her default, though she is always genuinely listening when a client needs to talk.

Alexis’s goal is simple and consistent: help each client feel more connected to their body, move through their day with less interference from pain, and leave the table with a calmer nervous system than when they arrived.
